Gentle Chair Yoga

Service Description

Join Fiona for a gentle chair yoga class designed to make movement accessible to everyone, whatever your age, ability or experience. If you struggle with balance, find getting up and down from the floor difficult, or are dealing with limited mobility, this is a welcoming class to help you move, within a group of people who are all starting at the same point. Using a chair for support, you'll move through gentle stretches and exercises, mindful movement and breathing techniques to help improve flexibility, mobility and body awareness. Suitable for all ages, these classes may be particularly appealing to older adults who would prefer a gentler, more supportive environment. There’s no pressure to keep up, no need to get down on the floor and you don't need any previous yoga experience. We hope this class will help you build confidence, balance, coordination and mobility, and meet other local people! Fiona's commitment to making movement accessible to everyone stems from her 20-year career in health-care nursing, where she saw how important it is for people to have access to movement and the benefits of exercise. It is worth noting that we have one step up to the studio from the street, which we can offer assistance with, but unfortunately wheelchairs will not make it up the step.
